1. Introduction: The Covenant of Mutual Freedom

Welcome to Omxus. These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Omxus network, protocols, and mobile applications. By activating the Citizen token, you are entering into a binding agreement not with a corporation, but with your local community.

Omxus operates on the principle of a civic-republican model of mutual freedom. Your freedom ends where another’s begins; mutual freedom means each person holds the widest possible freedom compatible with everyone else having the exact same rights. There are no administrators, no centralized databases, and no digital overrides. You hold yourself.

2. Citizenship and In-Person Vouching

2.1 Activation. You are not granted citizenship by Omxus, Inc. or any governing body. Citizenship is activated exclusively when three (3) verified humans stand in physical proximity to you, their devices confirm yours via Bluetooth, and they cryptographically sign your identity into the network.

2.2 Anti-Sybil Requirements. To maintain an active Citizen token and participate in quarterly referendums, you must vote in person during the designated 30-minute window alongside three other vouched token holders. You agree to rotate your vouching network; you cannot use the same individuals for consecutive referendums.

2.3 Loss of Credentials. Omxus does not possess customer service for password resets. Your identity comprises your name, your date of birth, and your secret phrase. If you lose your device and forget your phrase, you must be re-vouched by three citizens to re-enter the network. We cannot and will not retrieve lost credentials.

3. The ViewSwap Protocol and Dispute Resolution

The justice architecture of Omxus is designed for prevention, not punishment. Disagreements must climb a defined escalation ladder: direct sorting, voucher mediation, town mediation, and city mediation.

Accepting a ViewSwap invitation is not optional. Agreeing to it is part of holding a citizen token at all. You cannot be a citizen and also refuse to ever see through someone else's eyes.

3.1 Mandatory Execution. If a dispute reaches the final tier of the justice ladder, you legally agree to the ViewSwap protocol: you and the opposing party will swap lives for seven (7) days. You will live their life; they will live yours.

3.2 Refusal. If you refuse to participate in a mandated ViewSwap, you are admitting that you know the opposing party's life is worse than yours, and that you demand an unfair advantage. Refusal to complete a network-mandated ViewSwap results in the immediate and permanent revocation of your Citizen token and your removal from the Omxus network.

4. Emergency Response (Lily's Ripple) and Duty to Act

4.1 The Broadcast. By pressing and holding the emergency button for three seconds, you authorize Omxus to broadcast your name, distance, and direction to every verified human in your immediate vicinity, nearest first.

4.2 Duty to Act. Omxus is built upon the principle of assistance à personne en danger (assistance to a person in danger). While participating in the network, you acknowledge a moral and civic duty to respond to local emergencies if you are capable and safely able to do so.

4.3 Liability and Good Samaritan Protections. Responses generated through the Omxus network are peer-to-peer. You agree that Omxus is a routing protocol, not an emergency services provider. Responders act as volunteers and are protected under local Good Samaritan laws. Omxus bears no liability for the outcomes of community-dispatched responses.

4.4 Abuse of the Signal. The emergency broadcast is for genuine threats to life or safety. Intentional false alarms or "swatting" will be submitted directly to the ViewSwap justice ladder and may result in permanent network expulsion.

5. Cryptographic Identity and Data Ownership

5.1 Zero-Knowledge Proofs. Your data is yours. Omxus utilizes zero-knowledge proofs (zk-SNARKs) to verify that you are a registered citizen within a specific radius without revealing your ballot choices or constant geolocation.

5.2 Location Data. Your location is only calculated and broadcasted locally to other nodes at the exact moment you press the emergency button. It is not stored on a central server.

6. Forfeiture of Citizenship

Because you hold your own identity, Omxus cannot "delete" your account. However, the cryptographic consensus of your local nodes can reject your token. Your citizenship will be rendered invalid by the network if you:

  • Refuse a mandated ViewSwap resolution.
  • Are mathematically proven by the network to have orchestrated a Sybil attack (faking human vouching).
  • Intentionally and maliciously abuse the emergency broadcast system.
